Please read these lease terms and conditions meticulously before executing a car reservation with **Al-Mas Self Drive Cars**. Accessing and using our rental fleet vehicles implies direct binding compliance with the rules detailed below.

1. Eligible Driver Qualifications

  • Age Criteria: The renter must be at least 21 years of age.
  • License Validity: Must hold a valid Indian Driving License (LMC/Light Motor Vehicle class) or a valid International Driving Permit. The license must be in physical, pristine condition and have been active for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Identification & Verification: Verification strictly requires submitting One Bike (local registration), Two original ID Proofs (such as Aadhaar Card, Passport, or Voter ID), and ₹5,000 Security Deposit. Mismatched, fake, or suspicious identifiers will result in immediate lease cancellation with no approval. The deposit is fully refundable within 2 hours of returning the vehicle in good condition.

2. Security Deposit & UPI Refunds

  • Renters must submit a refundable security deposit prior to vehicle delivery (₹3,000 for hatchbacks, ₹5,000 for sedans/rugged 4x4s, ₹10,000 for premium SUVs).
  • Upon return and physical vehicle check clearance, Al-Mas guarantees deposit refunds via UPI (GPay, PhonePe) or bank transfers within exactly 2 hours.
  • Standard deductions apply for traffic violation fines, physical damage, toll overages, or refueling discrepancies.

3. Speed Limit & Traffic Violations

  • 80 km/h Limit: In compliance with Chennai municipal safety standards, all self-drive passenger rental cars are physically limited to a maximum speed of 80 km/hour.
  • Speeds exceeding 80 km/h are logged automatically by vehicle GPS telemetry. A penalty fine of ₹1,000 is charged per violation instance. Over 3 violations will result in automatic termination of the current lease with deposit forfeiture.
  • The renter is solely responsible for clearing any electronic traffic challans (RTO/police fines) issued during the rental period.

4. Fuel & Return Policy

We adhere to a simple, transparent **"Like-to-Like" fuel policy**. Vehicles are handed over with a recorded level of fuel, and the renter must return the vehicle with equivalent fuel. Refueling shortfalls are billed at actual cost plus a ₹200 handling charge.

5. Accident, Damage & Insurance Cap

  • All vehicles carry comprehensive bumper-to-bumper commercial insurance coverage.
  • In the event of an accidental collision, the renter's maximum liability for vehicle repairs is strictly capped at their basic security deposit amount, provided the renter was not violating any traffic laws, operating under the influence of substances, or delegating the keys to unverified secondary drivers.
  • If insurance claims are denied due to reckless driving or unapproved secondary drivers, the renter becomes 100% liable for all repair expenses and vehicle downtime charges.

6. Prohibited Vehicle Activities

Al-Mas self-drive cars must not be used for commercial towing, racing competitions, off-road trials (excluding approved 4x4 trails), taxi transportation, or carrying hazardous cargo.
